Imperfect angel Mariah Carey
hasn’t been one to shy away from the spotlight. Even when she’s coyly
batting her eyelashes and playing demure, it’s one of the campiest
gestures in pop culture. It’s a strategic diva move, dahhhling.
Take this Twitter photo she posed for and then posted recently: Mariah, showing it all off in a “monokini” (we don’t make up these words), propped up against a balcony, and NOT LOOKING AT THE CAMERA like, “Oh? Huh? Camera? #beautiful”
At 43 years old, Mariah’s body appears to have been recently thawed from its icy 1995 chamber after being cryogenically frozen, because she still has the body of a twentysomething.
It’s all part of Mariah’s “new era”—new sounds, new album, new body. The name of her upcoming record has been revealed; it’s called The Art of Letting Go, to be released on July 23. The title was confirmed by her longtime producer Jermaine Dupri and will include assists from top producers such as Hit-Boy and The-Dream.
Mariah’s also left her one-time gig on “American Idol” to focus on her music career once again. The Art of Letting Go is her first album since 2009 and her 11th overall.
