The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor 
E.A Adeboye has responded to criticism which hit him after purchasing a 
private jet, saying it is “necessary” for God’s work.<br />

In an interview with Al-Jazeera, Daddy G.O., as he is fondly called, 
said “There are things you need as a General Overseer… When you have to 
oversee churches in 160 countries, you can’t do that on a bicycle.”<br />

It is becoming quite a trend amongst pastors these days, leading to condemnation of the profession from most of the masses.<br />

A man has been arrested by the police at the Maroko Police Division, 
Lekki, Lagos, for allegedly entering the Redeemed Christian Church of 
God, City of David, situated on Muri Okunola Street, Victoria Island, 
Lagos with charms strapped to his waist.<br />

Ali Haruna was arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate Court on one-count charge of illegally entering a church with charms.<br />

The 25-year-old Kano State indigene was allegedly told the police 
during interrogation that he entered the church to pray to God. He 
however could not give satisfactory answers when asked what he was doing
 in a church with charms strapped to his waist.<br />

The church members suspected him to have entered the church to 
perpetrate evil as they claimed never to have seen him around before.<br />
