One thing I’ve come to figure out in my life is that there’s a theme song for everything. Everything. Whether you’re eating rice and chicken or even killing the chicken itself. There’s a theme song for you.

However today we are not talking about music (no, no, no), but a serious, straightforward issue, eating into our national heritage and pride as a nation. A cankerworm big enough to destroy the polity if not properly policed.

Today, we are talking about #LeBoo. Yes your boo. Me? Forget about me first. You nko? Show us your boo. Abii you don’t have boo?
How will you say you don’t have boo ehn? Every monday morning you be on the TL talmbout “weekend was great with the boo, I love “him” (him no get name abi) so much. Or something similar like “he’s traveling today, missing him already”. Or “I love my baby..the boo is coming today” etc etc.

Boo this, boo that, he doesn’t have name abi? Ehn, ladies answer me biko. Ever notice how you ask a guy who he’s dating and he quickly mentions her name? Or ask him on ask.fm (that thing is of the devil, walahi) if he’s dating a so and so and he quickly answers. But girls, naaah. Some even go as far as denying you even. Just to “keep their options open” as most of them say it.
Convo between a fresh boy and a taken girl:

Guy: what’s up?
Girl: I’m good babe..you?
Guy: I’m aii b
Girl: so whatchu doing?
Guy: bored..need someone to hang out with
Girl: oh, can I come over? ;;)
Guy: won’t your boyfriend object?
Girl: which boyfriend
Guy: *inserts name of boyfriend here*
Girl: oh, him? We are just close, that’s all. He isn’t my boyfriend.

This happens like everyday. Makes me wonder, why date someone you aint proud of? Is it konji? Or are you just a hoe that any hot new guy becomes an “option” to you? Why not stay without a boyfriend then? #QuestionsThatKeepMeUpAtNight.

However, I’ve stopped trying to understand girls. Also for my sanity (I’ve left understanding a lot of things to the philosophers. Why? You know na. For my sanity. Let them think abeg, they went to school for it. Me I have better things to do). However, the day I find out my girl has been denying me for whatever reason, Tonto Dike’s “itz ova” will be my theme song that day.
