Debuting as YEM Awards last year, coupled with a successful event, the frontline awards for youths and underground entertainers’ has evolved to CHASE Awards in bid to make the award more appreciated and credible.
YEM Awards made its’ entry into the entertainment industry to; identify and appreciate the good works of upcoming and underground entertainers in Nigeria. Also, to recognize, encourage the people behind the scene who contributes towards the growth of the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Speaking about the change of name, Olakunle Osein, producer of the awards said, “We decided to give the award a new meaning for better representation, credibility and branding. CHASE AWARDS is working towards ensuring that this award becomes the symbol of the youth, Entertainment and culture in the country.
He further said the new name will make the award more competitive: “The word “CHASE” itself means to run after something. We want the young and underground acts to chase this prestigious award; it’s for them and they must work hard to earn it.”
On the partnership with GoldSpan Entertainment, the producer said the partnership between GoldSpan entertainment and PayBack Media, organisers of CHASE Awards (Formerly YEM Awards) is to achieve the goals of CHASE Awards.
“We decided to partner with GoldSpan entertainment because we believe we can work together to achieve the objectives and goals of CHASE Awards. We would reveal our calendar for this year’s edition of chase awards soon.” Olakunle slated.
