Super Eagles stand-in captain Vincent Enyeama has been declared first-choice goalkeeper at French Ligue 1 side Lille Metropole for the 2013/14 season.
Lille manager, Rene Girard, was quoted by French magazine, L’Equipe, to have decided to consider Enyeama ahead of Frenchman Steeve Elana in the pecking order of goalkeepers.
“Vincent Enyeama (30 years) will be the number one goalkeeper of Lille next season as Rene Girard has decided,” reported L’Equipe on Wednesday.
Enyeama, who joined Lille in 2011, was transferred on loan to Maccabi Tel-Aviv last season.
He had been second choice to Mickael Landreau before the Frenchman moved to Bastia in January this year.
His returned from loan has prompted Girard to consider him ahead of Elana, who became number one while he was away.
