For a while now, D’Banj and his management team have been planning to
sign in rapper Olamide to their label, however, Olamide turned down the
Koko master’s offer, preferring to roll alone for now.<br /><br />Olamide,
who does not want to play the fool at this phase of his career, politely
 told D’Banj that he was not ready to surrender some of his powers,
especially having to be booked for shows only by D’Banj’s management
outfit, pleaded for time to even think about the offer as he still wants
 to work with his present team and taking things as they come for now.<br /><br />He believes that for now, there is nothing D’banj can do for him that he can’t do for himself. <br /><br />"In
 the future, I will consider his offer. If anybody wants me, he should
have unfettered access to me. I am just starting out in the profession",
 he allegedly told close friends.

<strong><span style="font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">In the
last 15 months, the Nigerian entertainment scene has witnessed more label
shakedowns than we could have ever imagined. And the breakup season isn’t over
yet…</span></strong><br />
<br />

Rapper Naetochukwu Chikwe better known as <strong><span style="font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Naeto C</span></strong> has ended his
relationship with <strong><span style="font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Storm Records</span></strong>, the music home where he launched his
career into the Nigerian music market.<br />
<br />

NET investigations have revealed that the rapper plans to fully launch his <strong><span style="font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">WKG/Cerious Music</span></strong>
label in a matter of months.<br />
<br />

Unlike the many breakups that have preceded Naeto’s, the rapper’s exit is
not battlemented; both parties have been very silent about the issue. As a
matter of fact, Storm Records insist that the rapper is still signed with them.<br />
<br />

One of the label’s directors <strong><span style="font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Tola Odunsi</span></strong> admits that Naeto has
had his own record label Cerious Music for a while but is still with Storm.<br />
<br />

‘<i>Naeto has had his record label for a while at least 3 years it’s called
Cerious Music – his music is being pushed as a joint venture btw storm 360 and
Cerious Music. Nothing has changed</i>’, Odunsi responded to our enquiry via
E-mail.<br />
<br />

Naeto C’s profile is still active on the Storm Records official website but
then again, we can’t take that seriously as <strong><span style="font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">General Pype</span></strong> (an artiste who
has since parted ways with the label) also has his profile on the website.<br />
<br />

An inside source however says Naeto has indeed left and his upcoming project
will not be released under the Storm Records imprint. One insider said: ‘<em>It
is true Naeto started Cerious Music a few years back but the launch of his new
outfit WKG (meaning White Kaftan Gang) will see him act fully as an independent
artiste</em>.’<br />
<br />

WKG kicked off in the middle of 2012 with the launch of his ‘<i>Tony Montana
(Bad pass)</i>’ video featuring D’banj. We are told he also plans to sign Lagos
producer <strong><span style="font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">E-Kelly</span></strong>.<br />
<br />

Storm Records was also not listed as one of the organizers of his first ever
solo US tour which ran from late March to early May 2013.<br />
<br />

Naeto who remains silent on the issue (he refused to reply our E-mail
messages) has been busy though: he welcomed his first child while on tour in
the US and returned to Nigeria to seal a deal with telecoms company <strong><span style="font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Globacom</span></strong>
as an ambassador. Popular artiste manager <strong><span style="font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Godwin Tom</span></strong> also says Naeto is
his new client.<br />
<br />

Naeto joined Storm Records in 2006, returning from the US where he had already
formed a rap group with close friend <strong><span style="font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Ikechukwu</span></strong> and his younger brother <strong><span style="font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Uzikwendu</span></strong>
called ‘<em><span style="mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">World Famous Akademy</span></em>’.
With the smash hit single ‘<em>Kini big deal</em>’, he released his debut album
‘<em><span style="mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">You Know my P</span></em>’ in
2008; parted ways with Ikechukwu who left Strorm in 2010 and then released a
successful second album ‘<strong><i><span style="font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Super C Season</span></i></strong>’ in February 2011.<br />

Popular Yoruba lingo rapper, Olamide, has clarified that he has not joined D’banj’s DB Records.<br />
<br />
The singer took to micro-blogging site, twitter to deny any deal with DB Records.<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<br />
“@olamide_YBNL I own My own record label uon even know it.. I ain’t signed to Db records uon even know it. Lol #KingShit”</blockquote>
<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
“@olamide_YBNL Banga lee n Baddo lee spiritually connected uon even
know it.. #EndOfStory,”olamide tweeted twice to emphasise that he had
not signed onto D’banj’s label.</blockquote>
<br />
Sources say the Kay Switch’s tweet that convinced people Olamide had
joined the Koko master’s label barely meant welcome to the D’banj, Naeto
 C and Ikechukwu clique.<br />
<br />
About a week ago, Kay Switch, D’banj’s brother, had tweeted: “Welcome to the family! Baddo”.<br />
<br />
DB Records have been linked with artistes such as Davido and recently, Orezi and Olamide.<br />
But with Olamide’s clarification, he is not signed onto DB Records.<br />

Xclusive: Don Jazzy's Mavin Records Celebrate One Year Anniversary Tomorrow

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://cdn-music.sturvs.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/don_jazzy_mavin_records.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="472" src="http://cdn-music.sturvs.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/don_jazzy_mavin_records.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="line-height: 14pt;">
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">Wednesday, May 8, 2013, marks exactly one year that
Michael Collins Ajereh publicly decided to chart a new course for himself
with the birth of Mavin Records-home to the Mavin League. It also marks
his birthday.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">
</span><div style="line-height: 14pt;">
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">The last 12 months have been clouded with several
can he get it right alone? Would he pull it through all by himself? </span></div>
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">
</span><div style="line-height: 14pt;">
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">When news circulated that Don Jazzy and Dbanj had
split last year it was also said that he left with all Don Jazzy’s
catalogue. Of course everyone thought that would be the end of him.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">
</span><div style="line-height: 14pt;">
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">And considering the obvious fact that the last one
year has become symbolic as one of the most trying periods for the Nigerian
entertainment industry, it has also become a symbolic year in the life
of the man who is now known and well referred to as Don Jazzy.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">
</span><div style="line-height: 14pt;">
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">Not many had given him the slightest opportunity
to prove his worth-accusations were flying around-but Don Jazzy remained
resolute, determined and undeterred in his decision to break even with
the MAVINS. Don Jazzy has successfully remained relevant, steadfastly
cooking up beats-as much as he can, churning out productions that has
left the music industry in a state of frenzy. He has bounced back from
scratch!</span></div>
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">
</span><div style="line-height: 14pt;">
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">Has he succeeded? That varies largely on your definition
of success but with over a dozen hit productions this year-<span style="font-style: italic;">Take Banana, Oma Ga, Amarachi,
Goody Bag, Kick</span>, <span style="font-style: italic;">Without my heart, Rotate, Lady
Don Dada</span>- in the last one year, one can only pat the beefy producer
on the back for daring to dare and standout! He has bounced back from
scratch!</span></div>
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">
</span><div style="line-height: 14pt;">
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">From Tiwa Savage to Wande Coal, D’Prince and Dr.
Sid, it’s obvious that Don Jazzy has structured a way out for himself
and his league of Mavins.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">
</span><div style="line-height: 14pt;">
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">However, only few people want to understand the obvious
fact that the 31 year old music producer, whose wizardry has become
one of the most talked about revolutions in the Nigerian music industry,
remains the regular man who can be caught tweeting on popular micro-blogging
network site, Twitter, as Don Jazzy, or the young man that has decided
to give back to that major society that has consistently supported him.
Without attracting undue possession, the term, IDJA (It’s Don Jazzy
Again) became one of Nigeria’s most trending and popular 4-letter
word on <span style="font-style: italic;">Twitter</span>.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">
</span><div style="line-height: 14pt;">
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">Although mystery remains his strongest point, Don
Jazzy, has left Nigerians-in Nigeria and its diaspora- wondering who
and where he hails from.</span></div>

</span><div style="line-height: 14pt;">
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">Jazzy’s appetite for a full-time career in music
could no longer be satiated when, in 2004, he partnered with D’Banj
to set up the Mo' Hits label. Within two years, the prolific producer

the trick with Wande Coal’s Mushin 2 MoHits, an album that was described
as one of the best albums to ever come out of Nigeria</span></div>
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">
</span><div style="line-height: 14pt;">
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">Although not acknowledging himself as a recording
artist, he is responsible for doing most Background Vocals for Artists
he produces for and sometimes does complete verses. His musical dexterity
can be heard through his beats and well calculated vocals he assists
to the likes of D'Banj, Sauce Kid, Dr SID, Ikechukwu, Kween, D'Prince
and even Jay-Z and Kanye West on their Watch The Throne track Lift Off,
featuring Beyoncé.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">
</span><div style="line-height: 14pt;">
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">In 2011 his talents got him noticed by Kanye West
who signed him up as a producer on his GOOD Music label.With over a
100 production tracks to his name, the understated genius has worked
with a host of local and international celebrities. In spite of his
whirlwind superstardom, Don Jazzy has never forgotten his humble beginnings.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">
</span><div style="line-height: 14pt;">
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">On the wake of the split up of Mohits, Samsung unveiled
their "Built for Africa" products and Don Jazzy was signed
on as their spokes person. </span></div>
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">
</span><div style="line-height: 14pt;">
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">On May 8 2012, Don Jazzy said, “The way forward
now is to make sure I keep bringing you guys more of the beautiful music
you all love to dance to,” He kept his promise of a new beginning,
as he announced the birth of Mavin Records.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;">
</span><div style="line-height: 14pt;">
