P-Square's older brother and manager, Jude Okoye, and his fiancee MBGN Tourism 2012 Ifeoma Umeokeke, who got engaged on April 24th after dating for a few months, have picked July 17th for their traditional wedding. The wedding will hold at the bride's home town in Nnewi, Anambra state. Their white wedding will hold after Ifeoma, who is said to be pregnant, gives birth. Congratulations to them.</div>

P-Square Are The 2nd Richest Artistes In Africa According To The Huffington Post

Just like Forbes, Huffington post has also released a list of its own 
version of 10 richest african musicians. See the names of Nigerian 
musicians who made the list below. 
 
1). Youssou N’dour 
 
Youssou
 N’dour brings it home in the No. 1 spot. This Senegalese singer is 
widely considered the most famous singer alive in Senegal and much of 
Africa. His style of music is known as mbalax, a mix of Senegalese 
traditional music in the Serer language and various styles from around 
the world including Cuban rumba, hip hop, jazz, and soul. 
With 
millions around the world in his fan base, he is now the owner of the 
biggest media house in Senegal (complete with radio and TV stations) and
 was appointed tourism and culture minister in 2012. More importantly, 
before K’naan had “Waving Flag” in 2010, N’dour was responsible for the 
1998 FIFA World Cup national anthem, “La Cour des Grands,” along with Axelle Red.

2). Psquare 
P-Square is made up of identical twins, Peter and Paul Okoye, who began singing and dancing together back in their small Catholic high school in Jos, Nigeria. 
 
After
 forming the group in 2005, their music developed a devoted following, 
particularly in South Africa, and each album outsold the previous one. 
They were named Artists of the Year at the 2010 Kora Awards and now 
bring in more than $150,000 per show. Best of all, their shared home is 
worth more than $3 million and has been dubbed “Squareville.” Talk about
 product placement! 
 
3). D'banj 
D’banj, aka the Koko Master, aka 
Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo, has been killing it in his native Nigeria and 
around the world since 2007, and was the first African artist who signed
 with the music label GOOD, owned by Kanye West. The recipient of 
countless awards, D’banj is known for his unique sound of dance music 
and Afro beats. He is involved in a variety of investments including a 
nightclub in Nigeria, brands such as Koko water, and was given his own 
reality show, “Koko Mansion.” 
 
4). Koffi Olomidé 
Along with 
fellow Congolese star Fally Ipupa, Koffi Olomidé formed Quartier Latin 
as lead singer and vocalist before launching his solo career. Dubbing 
his style of music as tcha tcho, he considers it a blend of soukous 
music (dance music that originated from African rumba music). He’s 
notorious for taking on controversial subjects in his lyrics, which has 
led him to be widely praised and criticized worldwide. 
Raking in over
 100,000 euros per show, Olomidé is extremely popular across Africa and 
the world. One of his albums is listed in Robert Dimery’s book, “1001 
Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.” 
 
5). Salif Keita 
Born and 
raised in Mali, singer and songwriter Salif Keita has been referred to 
as the “Golden Voice of Africa,” with his original take on Afro-pop 
music. Despite his royal heritage (he’s directly descended from Sundiata
 Keita, the founder of the Mali Empire), he chose a path of music, 
bucking the Malian caste system. But this means that he was loaded even 
before his music career took off, explaining his private island and properties across Europe 
 
6). Fally Ipupa 
Fally
 Ipupa, a former member of Quartier Latin International (along with 
Koffi Olomidé, to be mentioned later), went solo in 2006 and has been 
incredibly successful, both in his home country of the Democratic Republic of the Congo
 as well as internationally. With MTV Africa Music and Kora awards under
 his belt, he’s racked up clothing endorsement deals in Paris as well as
 high commissions for his shows across the world, which are almost 
always sold-out. 
 
7). 2face Idibia 
Nigerian singer-songwriter 2 
Face Idibia began his career as a member of the hip hop group Plantashun
 Boyz, but went solo in 2004 after the group split. His most popular 
song, “African Queen,” took off after being featured in the movie “Phat 
Girlz” in 2006, but all of his five albums have been very well-received 
around the world. His wealth comes from various real estate investments 
across Nigeria, as well as the $80,000 he commands per show. 
 
8). Hugh Masekela 
Musical sensation Hugh Masekela is a South African artist who plays a variety of instruments,
 including the trumpet, flugelhorn, and cornet, along with singing and 
composing his own work. He has been highly praised for his work, with 
everything from a Grammy nomination to the Order of the Ikhamanga by 
President Jacob Zuma (for achievements in arts, culture, literature, 
music, journalism, and sports in South Africa). He has graced 
prestigious festivals across the world. He is perhaps best known for his
 acapella-style singing and collaboration with Paul Simon and Ladysmith 
Black Mambazo on the Graceland album and 1987 Graceland tour

 Olubankole Wellington in the U.S., Banky W moved back to Nigeria and 
grew up in Lagos, where he began singing at an early age. Finding 
success early in singing competitions, most of his wealth has come from 
endorsement deals with companies such as Estisalat mobile and Samsung in
 Nigeria. He also started the Mr. Capable Foundation, an education 
charity that provides tuition scholarships for disadvantaged children.

Why
 are you people always forcing me to come to the public? I don’t want to
 be a celebrity and I am not one of them. I don’t sing, dance or act. I

Who is your ideal woman? 
The most important 
thing I look out for in a woman is understanding, aside physical beauty 
because everybody wants to look at the person beside him and be amazed 
and happy to have married a beautiful lady, not an ugly girl. Basically,
 your wife should understand you, especially when both male and female 
fans are swarming around you, wanting to take photographs with you and 
the rest. She must understand when you’re at work and office. That is my
 kind of woman. 
 
 
Meaning that your lady has all these qualities? 
Yes, she does. She’s beautiful and understanding. 
 
So, when are you kicking bachelorhood? 
When
 I will kick bachelorhood, I will call you and my fans to come and eat 
and drink. Already, I have purchased the bell, when it’s time, I will 
ring it. 
 
Why is it taking so long, on a more serious note? 
It’s
 taking so long because I am waiting for you people. Basically, why I am
 not yet married is that I don’t want to get married because I have all 
it takes to marry or because I am ripe. I want to get married and feel 
married so that I will be committed to my wife. 
Although, I am not
 looking for a perfect person, but she must be a friend, partner, 
everything and someone that understands what I do.

The high anticipation preceding the 1st leg of the Star Music Trek 
regional concerts was not in vain as music lovers from the nooks and 
crannies of Lagos and beyond thronged  Jite Open Field in FESTAC, to 
watch their favourite superstars Psquare, M.I, Ice Prince, Sound Sultan,
 KCee, Kas and other exciting artistes perform live. Thousands of
 guests bravely defied the Lagos rains to attend the concert and witness
 high-octane performances from the star artistes. Compere of the 
event, Gbenga Adeyinka, set the crowd reeling as he dished out from his 
rich repertoire of jokes and anecdotes while boldly challenging local 
talent who eagerly lined up at the venue as early as 3pm to join him on 
the stage and prove their mettle.

performances- a rich medley of thumping dance steps and pulsating 
rhythms- from fan favourites PSquare, M.I, Ice Prince, Sound Sultan, 
Kcee, Kas, and Crystals that sent the crowd into frenzy with many 
demanding encores from the headliners. One after the other, the 
music acts dished out popular songs from their collection of hits, 
reaching out to the crowd who swelled the ranks in appreciation of the 
stage craft and mastery of the entertainers. M.I, in between 
songs, paid tribute to the fans whom he said had greatly inspired him to
 his level of fame while repeatedly urging them to ‘never give up on 
their dreams’. 
In between performing his hit songs, the prolific entertainer humorously
 described his hustle up the ranks- mentioning his journey to Lagos from
 Jos by road via ABC Bus- to become a notable music star to court today. 
“No matter what happens, you need to believe in yourself, don't ever let
 anyone take your dreams from you.” the MTV-award-winning 
rapper-entrepreneur reiterated. On the other hand, award winning 
artiste, Ice Prince, who has enjoyed a very successful musical year so 
far affirmed his appreciation of being part of this year’s tour  “I’m 
really happy to be part of Star Music Trek 2013, can’t wait to connect 
with my fans all over the country and make beautiful music.” Kcee,
 whose hit Limpopo has been on every major playlist across the country 
over the past few months surprised one lucky fan as he flung his wrist 
watch into the crowd “ I love my wrist watch…but FESTAC, I love you guys
 more!” Special surprise performances from, African China took 
fans down memory lane with his hit, Crises, and Harrisong also added to 
the intense excitement of the night. Other artistes expected to 
perform at the nation wide event include 2face, D’banj, Psquare, Timaya,
 Wande Coal, Obesere, Mr Raw, Dr. Sid, JMartins, Naeto C, Tiwa Savage, 
Sheyi Shey, and many others. 
 Fans in Aba, Abeokuta, Agege, Asaba, Enugu, Nnewi, Owerri, Lokoja, 
and Surulere will also get a taste of the excitement as the concert will
 also tour these cities over the next two months. The Star Music Trek Presents The Trek ends with a major finale on August 10th at National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

records (P-Square record label) due to irreconcilable differences, he 
screamed blue murder, threatened litigation and countered by launching 
his own outfit Confam Entertainment; releasing singles and videos. 
Today, however, we have reason to believe that these two camps have reconciled. 
 
Come May 10, this writer has learnt May D’s highly anticipated album 
will drop and it features PSquare in a powerful collaboration called You

In a season when some artistes are dropping out of school to embrace 
music, others have proved they could combine development of their 
talents with schooling, writes CHUX OHAI Many years ago, parents 
didn’t like children who preferred a career in music to medicine, law or
 engineering. Musicians were generally regarded as occupying the lowest 
rung of the social ladder and, so, they were hardly respected. Although
 they worked hard at their chosen vocations and sometimes, travelled far
 beyond these shores, many musicians were hardly seen as useful members 
of the society. Most of the time, they were dismissed as social misfits. Unfortunately,
 time has not completely changed this perception. Nowadays, there 
appears to be an increase in the number of youths dropping out of school
 to take up a career in music. While some of them have always said their
 passion for music was the reason why they quit the classroom for the 
recording studio, others put the blame on poverty and other challenges. But
 a courageous few have managed to resist the temptation to push aside 
their education and embrace the glamorous life style of music artistes. 
With some now armed with Master’s degrees in various disciplines, they 
have emerged as successful and highly respected artistes with a wide fan

later, he won a scholarship to attend college in New York and 
afterwards, bagged a degree in engineering at the Rensselaer 
Polytechnic. While he was at the institution, Banky W kept 
pushing his dream to become a successful musician someday. Back home in 
Nigeria, he won the hearts of many music fans with his exceptionally 
smooth voice and, in due course, succeeded in winning a loyal 
followership. Over the past years, the velvet-voiced singer has 
recorded a number of albums. He founded the Empire Mates Entertainment, a
 records label, as a platform to promote his music and to get it across 
to his fans in the country. Apart from distinguishing himself as a
 charismatic musician, Banky W is a philanthropist and a civil rights 
activist. During the last nationwide protests against the removal of 
fuel subsidy, he played a key role in mobilising the youths to take part
 in the protest in Lagos. Somehow, this talented artiste, whose 
career is on the rise, has managed to keep out of trouble. Till date, he

 Blige, Sting, George Michael, Kelly Clarkson and the Spice Girls. 
Before then, she had worked briefly as a trainee accountant in a 
commercial bank in London. A successful artiste in her own right,
 Tiwa co-wrote Fantasia Barrino’s ‘Collard Greens and Cornbread’, which 
was nominated for the American Grammy Award. This is perhaps, one of her
 most important achievements. Apart from that, she has released two 
single albums titled Love Me and Kele Kele Love. Last February, she got

reality TV talent hunt show and had the opportunity to perform in front 
of millions of viewers. He emerged third in the contest. Unknown 
to many music fans, this talented artiste graduated from the University 
of Lagos where he studied Music. In 2011, he was the host of both the 
Gulder Ultimate Search and Glo Naija Sings reality. So far, he has three

 one of the most successful in the country, having won several awards 
and a huge fan base across Africa. They are listed among the 10 richest
